Parents Qualifying for nationals (Level 8)

Can someone explain how male gymnasts qualify for level 8 nationals? I am hearing contracdictory answers.

AFAIK, level 8 does not have nationals, only regionals.

The USGA site has results from level 8 for Nationals. So unless something changed...

Are you talking boys or girls? boys L8-10 have nationals.

Depending on age there are different rules. Competitive age 11 yo have to be JE. So they need to do tech sequences at state, regionals and nationals.

Competitive age 12 yo can qualify JO or JE. (JE requires tech sequences). Closer to regionals, USAG will set an allotment for each region at each level. In order to qualify for any regionals, you have to be in that allotment. So if your region has 10 L8 spots, you have to be in the top 10.

NOt sure how they are going to do JE/JO with the 11/12 yo this year. It is always a wait and see.
