ChampionsTX in Austin, TX a busy multi-venue sports and educational company, specializing in gymnastics, tumbling, and cheer, is looking for enthusiastic, passionate, versatile and committed people to join our family! We are searching for multiple individuals to teach, coach, and manage in multiple departments within our two facilities.

We develop strength, skill, and character through gymnastics training and are looking for an applicant who deeply cares about helping kids learn and grow! Our gymnastics program is completely recreational and spans ages 1-18 years. It is divided into two departments, 1-5 year olds and Kinder-12th Grade.

Position is located at our "tiny but mighty" Central Austin WAYA 5,000 sq. feet facility - has been the go-to place for 1-18 year old recreational gymnastics in the heart of Austin for 21 years.

Includes Directing:
  • beginner to intermediate gymnastics classes
  • exhibition teams
  • power tumbling classes
This is a full time position and the schedule will include ALL of the K-12th Recreational Gymnastics program, plus coaching 1-5 year olds, special events / parties, and admin hours for organizing the program. The schedule is subject to change, but is approx. 11:15am-8:15pm Monday, 1:15-8:15pm Tuesday, 9:30am-8:15pm Wednesday and Thursday, 1:30-11:00pm Friday, and birthday parties Saturday.

This position is available immediately, and we would like this person to start Jan. 4th but are willing to wait for the perfect person.


Qualifications:


  • Passion for gymnastics.
  • Personal experience in gymnastics.
  • Coaching and spotting experience in gymnastics.
  • Ability to spot beginner to advanced level gymnastics.
  • Thorough knowledge of gymnastics skill progressions.
  • Experience budgeting.
  • Experience supervising staff and volunteers.
  • Must be Gymnastics Safety Certified, or be willing to get that within 1 week of employment.
  • USA Gymnastics Instructor Member
  • Must believe in teaching through positive reinforcement.
  • Create a positive atmosphere for staff, students and parents.
  • Create a positive atmosphere for everyone at ChampionsTX! If you tend to bring drama with you, you will not last long here, as this is a team-player environment.
  • Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to keep track of to-do lists, timelines, and hourly/weekly/monthly/yearly calendars.
  • Strong communication skills and positive approach a must. Must have excellent written communication skills. Parents will both call and email, and you'll be asked to put many things in writing. Staff, especially the owner, uses text message and email as primary form of communication. Must have excellent verbal and “drama” communication skills for coaching and communicating with kids.

  • A team player willing to step in and help with whatever is needed.
Responsibilities:

  • As a Department Leader you will be responsible for, but not limited to the following listed duties: organizing your class schedules, creating a strong atmosphere of positivity, keeping your program area looking nice, tracking attendance, complete skill charts on a timely basis, respond to emails and phone calls in a timely basis, lead classes with excitement, make athletes of all levels feel like Champions, making recommendations to parents for the best fit for students, planning performances, creating curriculum for the classes and teams to ensure a good balance of tough workout with fun character/team building, moving students off waitlists wherever possible, training gymnastics staff, communicating with parents, sending out newsletters, watching enrollments and ratios, checking supplies and equipment, teach kids to “try again” and the importance of determination, planning skill clinics, ordering leotards and other uniform pieces, ordering trophies, organization team pictures, answer phone with energy and take good messages, answer parent emails with clear details and positive messages, creating teams and tracking team invitations, planning team parties, organizing team parents, and other business responsibilities associated with the gymnastics program.
  • Department Leaders’ are responsible for all aspects of the Department’s operation and financial health.
