I'm curious. When a gym claims to be safety certified. What does that mean?

It means they took the safety certification test and passed it. Safety certification is mostly for insurance purposes... it's not especially enlightening.

Actually, a gym can't be safety certified. The individual coaches have to do that. I would guess that the gym in question makes sure that all their coaches are safety certified. Getting safety certification is very easy for most coaches. The things that they ask in general are common sense and it's test that can be taken with the book, but there is still a required four hours of listening to instructor(s) -- even when taken online.

I was going to say, I wouldn't get too excited about that.
