Squad testing?

Ok, so we might be moving to Hertfordshire in 18 months, and I am thinking of joining a squad. We have spoken to them and they said that you have to be assessed before you can be put on the waiting list.

So, I was wondering what kind of thing they would assess you on? What skills do you need??

P.S. - I am 13.

depends on the level of the squad ? Novice/Intermediate/Advanced

In Pink and Fluffys old gym they tested on fitness and skills

push ups/sit ups/chins/squat thrusts in one minute
Straddle hang (how long)
Leg lifts

Skills would be things like splits, flicks, walkovers etc

'Margo is correct, each gym will have their own policies and systems. At ours, for example, you'd be placed in a recreational class of others your age. Over the first 6-12 weeks we would assess you on skills, strength, flexibility, ability to listen and make corrections, your desire to work hard (rather than just be there for a social!) etc. Once we had done all of that we'd know better where to place you. If you showed a desire to attend the novice squad we'd give you a trial, provided you could do certain skills, which are usually based on our 'novice beginner' competition skills. If you hadn't got these skills, we'd leave you in your recreational class until you had and keep re-assessing.
