Hi!

My 7 year old daughter has just managed to get her straddle lever from the floor this weekend but only whilst up against a wall. She has been trying to do this for a couple of weeks and really pushing herself by conditioning herself by doing straddle ups from tiptoes and controlling her straddle up and down and finally down. She was so pleased to have got it properly from the floor but is now frustrated that when she tries to do it on the floor she finds herself going forwards onto her head and not up like against the wall. I am guessing it might have something to do with hand placement and also a confidence issue when there is nothing there to support her from going to far forward? Any advice would be great!

What does her coach say? It's hard to say anything without seeing it, either in real life or on video. There could be multiple things causing it.

Good luck in this journey!
