Welcome to the first Chalkbucket Challenge. The Challenge is open to parents only. If other sub groups want a challenge of their own they can either make one up or copy ours.:)

Submissions are to be in the form of embedded videos.

One gymnastics element only, can be a jump, leap, turn or an acrobatic element.

Appropriate dress, yes the kids will be sneaking a peek for sure.

No more than three alcoholic drinks are allowed for the parent, though the camera person can do as they wish.

If you have already stated that you are a former gymnast, we will be expecting big things from you.

Skills from L1-L6 USAG are all acceptable, for help go to Gymnastics Revolution - Gymnastics Interactive-Index - 203-798-8651 for ideas.

Closing date is October the 27th. Judging will be done by a ridiculously unqualified and totally biased panel of judges.

FIRST POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the full explanation behind the video, go here to the bottom post by me

The cliffs version: Was going to do a one handed cartwheel blindfolded, but the 3 drink rule owned my goal. Come to think of it, pretty much owned my ability to do it straight as well :p It hasn't killed my ambition though! I'LL BE BACK!

(p.s. Stevie-kinz Buscemi is my inspiration!)

Proof of my mom status-

Mine is the baby boy on the left, this was post production baby hangtime

I would love to do it- I am so tech challenged I don't know how to upload the videos on to my computer. May I be a judge instead?:p

I had to have my husband do it. The video was a unpopular format or something, it had to be changed to upload to a host site.

If these are going to be judged will there be a prize? I may have to put in something better rofl. I think a good prize would be to be able to choose the color your name appears in. If thats possible and wouldn't mess with usegroups of course.

There is a trophy for first place and medals for all participants. I will also ask JBS if he can give a special title to the winner.

Oh bummer! This is not fair! I used to be able to do a one-handed-front walk-over (never did 'real' gymnastics either!), but now...noooooo way! I tried a walkover once, in my early thirties, and I was sore/nearly paralyzed for a week! I ACTUALLY was diagnosed w/ arthritis (in my early 30's-boo-hooo!) shortly thereafter. I wont' dare do that stuff now, for fear of bed-ridden-ness afterwards! (Seriously, I can't even take Advil for pain, due to a stomach issue so, none of that crazy stuff for me!)

Can I join the arthritic-at-age-43 challenge? I think I can salute the judges, that's about all...

I too am in my 40's and suffering from a few nasty maladies. I am not working on the acrobatics, more on the turns and jumps. I think by Tuesday I'll have my submission ready. I just need to perfect the salute.:D

All levels are welcome, have you watched L1 USAG? A sloth could do it with one eye closed. How hard could a tuck jump on floor be?

If Linsul wins everything, that's not going to be much of a challenge, is it?

If that is her in the pic w/ her baby, then forget it. She' still a babe herself, complete w/ actual cartilage in her joints, and everything!

It's lonely in here with me and my crooked cartwheel lol. I will say that I creaked and cracked the whole way through it! The 3 drink rule helps in that department :D

I love you. Having said that, my camera-girl friend tried to rip off labels of advil/excedrin/and motrin for 'sponsorship' spots on my back! She was foiled by whatever manufacturing cement is used to seal them on the bottles! My medicine cabinet is now full of shredded up label bottles, like a catfight broke loose in there. She laughed pretty hard at me though, especially the scarf takes that I can't show here rofl.

Did you click on her picture and watch her video, she is really hot for sure, but c'mon us wrinklies can put up a good fight.

Ok - here's my cartwheel

I shall have to see if I can join the fun - I have not been able to get any videos to upload to CB yet.

I have been working on my cartwheels - but Linsul has me beat. I did work on handstands about a month ago - pulled a muscle in my rump.

I do think that Linsul does have an advantage - I mean still having cartilage and all.

Then I attempted a handstand

And then where it all went very, very wrong, lol

Hey - you got both feet off the floor !!! The cartwheel and handstand were quite impressive.

Of course I can barely walk today - the back of my leg is killing me - but I can't stop laughing at myself either !!!!

I will have to see if DH can figure out why I cannot post videos. I have been flat out sick all weekend - couch-bound since Thursday w/ Bronchitis. Starting to feel better today - but NO energy. Maybe next weekend I can muster up a handstand or cartwheel. Would love to say I could do a bridge - BUT ..............

If I practice hard enough maybe I could land a cartwheel on DD's floor beam !!

OMG Flippy you're a wild child. That switch leap looked painful.

A bridge , can post childbirth paople even bend over backwards without things falling out?

We've just eaten three turkey dinners for Thanksgiving, I'll be wearing spanx when I make mine tomorrow when the kids go back to school.
