    WAG Mental Toughness???

I was once in a similar situation. I don't believe this is mental toughness. I think that HC is wrong. Perhaps DD should tell a coach flat out,"Everyone is telling me different ways to do _____ skill. Can we just try and see which one is the best for me?"

    WAG Osgood schlatters (sp?)

The chopat strap, for me, rubbed against my knee until I could barely stand because of pain- don't forget blisters.

I've had bad experiences with the Chopat Strap. Something I recommend getting is a Tommy Copper knee sleeve. It's a real help, but it doesn't look like it. You can get it online for about $25.00.

This is coming from a sufferer of Osgood-Schlatter's AND Sever's Disease- I'd recommend taking her to a sports medicine specialist. Is there a tender bump below her knee? Does it hurt when pressed? When squatting? If so, then probably yes.

WAG Mommy and me- too skills focused?

Backbends? Yikes! If they're doing backbends on 18 month-olds, then who knows what they do with the older kids!

But I guess one could say that I "chicken" out when I jump back and my hands are supposed to hit the ground.

I always wind up doing backdrops on the tramp, so yeah...

Good point there. I don't really have my own "version" of the skill but I see what you're thinking. Mental blocks are hard to get over for me.

I am physically capable. I will ask him to try bhs by myself. My mental block is most definitely the issue here. I sadly do not have a personal trampoline, so I can't do extra practice. This sounds dangerous, but how can I go about having a spot like my mom and trying it on grass?

And do you guys think it's possible to learn a backhandspring by July? That's my ultimate goal.

    WAG BHS fear

Hi. I am training to do back handsprings. I can do them with a spot. But once I try by myself, I am scared that my hands won't hold me up and I'll fall. Any tips?

    WAG Backbend kickover troubles!

Update: So yesterday, I took the advice of really pushing my shoulders. I got over off of a 4 inch mat! Thank you for all of the help!

    WAG Backbend kickover troubles!

But I'm actually quite flexible. Two months since I started and can already do a needle.
