My older daughter started training team at 5 and she practiced 6 hours a week (2 hrs/day for 3days). At age 6, she was in preteam and for 9 hours a week (3hrs/day for 3 days). Parents Ideas for displaying child's medals from meets

We also just finished up our level 4 couple weeks ago. We used cork board and pushpins to display her ribbons and medals along with her scorecards. We also mounted a simple self on the wall to display her trophies.

    Team size

There are 15 girls in my DD's level 4 team and we have 3 coaches. At the practice, each coach takes 5 girls to work on one event and then rotate. Just like in the competition. I like how they work it out.

Holding kids back a level to win?

There are two gyms in my area that like to hold girls back a level (especially for level 4). Gym A has their younger girls only compete in invitationals for the first year, so those girls will still be novice for the next year to compete in the States and get very high AA scores (I mean 38+)...

    Manhattan Classic

My DD's gym went to the meet yesterday @8:00AM. She got the 1st place on vault, bar and All Around. My DD enjoyed the meet even though it was the biggest meet she ever went. I didn't like how they arranged the seating area. There was too much traffic between the competition and seating areas. I...
