    WAG JO Code changes 2018-2022

We are in Region 8. I'll figure out a way to approach her and ask. I just don't want to look like crazy gym mom! But also don't want DD working on a routine that doesn't meet new requirements. Thanks for the help!

See that's what I thought. But do I go to the coach and say " umm are you sure about that?" What else would be a flight skill? She added some kind of tuck 1/2 jump.

Does a BWO with a cart wheel/back tuck dismount fulfill the new Level 6 beam requirements? The way I read it it looks like it would be BWO-BwO or BHS. The coach is saying she doesn't need a series but she doesn't have a flight element except the dismount.

Parents Do you go to out-of-state meets as a compulsory level gymnast?

We do a full season of xcel and go to xcel state and regionals. No state compulsory. Just do a mobility meet to test out of 4 and 5 once they are ready for level 6. This year might be different. New head coach. Who knows!

Parents Do you go to out-of-state meets as a compulsory level gymnast?

Our gym has started doing a 'one and done' test-out on compulsory levels. So we don't do states anyway. The girls will compete xcel until they are ready to test out of levels 4 and 5. When we did do compulsory, we did go out of state for one meet but it wasn't very far.

    WAG New Grips

Just got my DD Ginnasta double buckle and she loves them a lot better than her old Gibson Just Right grips. they broke in fairly quickly.

    Parents Has anyone ever...

And I meant to add that you are not a Mean Mom. You are looking out for the best interest of your family. Gym life is hard on a family. Don't be so hard on yourself. Since she is 12, talk to her about the situation and see how she feels about it. 12 is old enough to understand about...

    Parents Has anyone ever...

This is about the same thing I am pondering with my DD and almost the same circumstances as far as talent and age. She works hard but is "not a natural" as one coach pointed out so skills take longer to acquire. Her father complains regularly about how much we are both gone from home (driving...

Parents How many gymnasts on a team/per coach

Ours varies day to day. Usually 8-10 girls per coach. But some days 14 to 1. It just depends on how they split the training groups that day and what coaches and girls are there. We have no assigned coach per level or event, which can be confusing for the girls (according to DD) when one coach...

    Parents Best team messaging app

We use the Band app. Each training group has their own "band" and there is one for Girl Team Info and Booster Club as well.

    Parents Hand pain

She is probably somewhere in between your two. She has had hip and ankle problems but usually ices and goes on. But she usually backs off on bars when Her hands start hurting. She starts shaking them and usually just does the floor strength stations on bars from then on. It might be...

    Parents Hand pain

She is 12. Good advice. She will be able to understand that and might encourage her to push through it as I'm pretty sure it's just soreness!

Sound so like that might help. Willing to try anything at this point! Thanks!

    Parents Hand pain

Thanks for all the great info. She has a pumice and a corn/callus shaver. Although I suspect she isn't very vigilant about doing either. She had a private today and she got a tiny blood blister. Coach said she needed to work on filing the calluses when he looked at it. I'll get her to start...

    Parents Hand pain

She said it mostly hurts where the calluses are and her palms. That it feels like they are burning.
