I would love to hear more about what others do. I have heard in our area that it sounds similar to others in that they use an online curriculum and have "teachers" that help teach kids but our area pays way less, only $900/school year!

Gosh, FlippinLilysMom, I could have written that for my DD! Those Kids work so hard and some days they need to show it. We have the emotional roller coasters and sometimes even feel we need a mental institution! I love the "get out of practice free" card. Gives her the ownership of her body...

Oh yes! Since L6 my DD has competed with kids at least 2 years older (always the youngest). Even regionals last year was almost a 2 year gap (L8). This year L9 her first meet 5 year gap! 5 years!!!!!!!!!! So yes buckle in and get used to it!

I understand the value of the DIC and D.C. camp, do any of your gyms have national coaching staff that comes to your gym to work with the girls? Curious to know how that works. Of course it wouldn't crests the pressure and rigor of camp but it could be powerful to have that individual attention.

Always tough! And as I heard so many times- it will always be "unfair" for someone. It's doesn't seem to phase DD what group she is in. She has always been in the youngest age. As she progresses through the levels the age gap widens! Where maybe it's 6months-1 year in level 3 it's 3 years in...
