Pile up stacks of spotting blocks, have them stand on the blocks with there hands on the bar, then they jump to the handstand. Start with the blocks at almost bar level and then you can start removing them.
Another option with the same set up is they are in a front support on the bar, cast up...
Just camp back from Woodward on Saturday. Got my gainer back tuck off beam and almost have my cast handstand, I can straddle up but I'm just not quite getting my legs together yet.
Learned lots and had a ball. The best part was getting to work with Russell Warfield!
So Empire State Games was this weekend. I competed on Friday in the Masters division and had a GREAT time! Here are my results...
Beam: GOLD 7.5
Bars: BRONZE 4.1 (only 3 people competed bars hense the medal for such a low score LMAO)
Vault: BRONZE 8.2
Floor: No medal 6.8
All Around...
I point my toes all the time. If I'm standing in line or something I will rock back and forth pointing one toe and then the other. Our gym owner thinks its funny and says that my old coach must have really rubbed off on my since he was always on us about pointing our toes.
It's modifed level 8. I wish there were others going, but I'm sure there will be plenty of us. Now if I could only get some others to go to Woodward with me. lol
Well I had my 2nd meet today in preparation for the Empire State Games that will be in July. Here are my scores, I they are a bit better than they should be but thats ok!
Bars: 7.0 with 1 fall
Floor: 8.4
Beam: 8.3 with 1 fall
Vault: 9.0
All Around: 32.7
Ivy,
Any chance you will be competing in the Empire Games this year?
Also, I posted on here a while ago about going to Camp Woodward at the end of August. Just wondering if anyone else has decided to go. I hope I'm not the only "old" person there. lol

Woo hoo! Just got home from the gym and had to get on here and post cause i'm so excited. I got my backhandspring on the wide high been set at the middle height. It has a cover pad on it that makes it like 6" instead of 4". And I also got my RO, BHS back tuck on floor.
Next meet...June 20th!
