As a coach, you may get this question a lot from proud parents, but… If you believed your 4-year-old daughter might be a prodigy what would you do?

Parents When did you know your child was an athlete?

I am just now beginning to really see and appreciate my 4-year-old daughter as a budding athlete. You can really see the muscle definition in her arms and legs. She loves gymnastics and works hard at it.

Thanks for the welcome! We're in Northern NJ...Hackettstown. My 4 year old DD goes to CS Gymnastics. I met with the club owner to learn more about her platform. She is all about safety in the sport, young kids having fun, good nutrition, etc. She sees her club as a "springboard" for kids...

I'm not that tech savvy either. You probably just need a little time without interruptions (hard to come by) to set up a user account on YouTube. From there, it's pretty easy. YouTube will walk you through it...Good luck!

Thanks all! Thanks all for your pearls of wisdom! You're right, it is easy to get sucked in. I love the advice to let this be my daughter's sport and to let the coaches coach and be her best cheerleader! Oh yes, I will bring the checkbook! :)

    New Mom

Hi All, My dd is 4.5 and has been doing gymnastics for 9 months. It turns out, she is good and she loves gymnastics! The club/gym we've been going to wants to get her on the pre-team as soon as she is 5. This is all new to me. We're not a gymnastics family (or even a very athletic family)...

    Introduction

New mom too Hi...I'm new to this group... I have a 4.5 year-old dd who has had 3 sessions and 2 weeks of summer camp. We've been told by the club coaches that she is good. The club wants to put her on a pre-team when she is 5. We're not a gymnastics family or really even an athletic...
