Does a level 7 beam routine need to have a forward acro move or can they be all backwards (back walkovers, back handsprings, etc?) Thank you for any input!
Leos only. Never thought much about it until recently as my daughter is getting closer and closer to her first period and she is getting more and more apprenehensive about it. :/
I think that is an exaggeration. My daughter is only in the 6th grade but we are in the top school district in our state and she is in all advanced classes. She is a level 7 gymnast. She averages about 8 hours of sleep a night. She is definitely more tired this year than ever before (up until...
I am definitely not an expert on either gym but from what I hear, Hills is overall stronger. They have more higher level girls go on to college gymnastics. However, we have a friend who went to Sportsplex and is doing extremely well and are very happy there. I don't know much about them past...
My daughter is 11 1/2 as well and ohhhh the frustration. She also skipped level 6 (AND we moved this summer to a new state so also a new gym).. She is struggling with the cast handstand- extremely inconsistent getting vertical. The tears and frustration... She was always my more calm, easy going...
We competed against a few gyms from up there when we lived up that way... Dont know much about Novaks but the name is familiar. Im not sure how close Apollo, Chantilly, or Capital is to where you will be living, but maybe check them out.. Good luck!
I rarely go into my daughter's gym for pick up or drop off since we moved here. Mainly because my daughter will look for my reaction instead of her coach's and I would rather her pay attention to them. With that said, if she seems "off" or is struggling with a skill, I may pop in to check in...
My daughter has always loved the bars... until this year. She is struggling with the cast handstand (getting it vertical) and she is really getting down on herself. This season, floor is her favorite event.
If it's a gym owned by a friend and is your old stomping grounds, go for it! She will have fun! And honestly, at this age, this is when gymnastics is "fun"! This is when they want to do it all the time and doesnt feel as much like "work". Just my opinion though...
