    Gymnasts Inflexible Shoulders

Getting assessed by a re-hab pro would be ideal if at all possible - so you can be assessed and have targeted flexibility and strength work Here is a short video of activities Longer in-depth information

Anon No room at the next level…

Being in an over-full group is not ideal. Potentially less time on apparatus and attention. Given the injury issues, the full group ahead and the fact that within level six you can basically do level seven - I see no real issue with this, especially since you seem generally happy with the...

    WAG Nationals question

I had a little browse through and in both these regions in some age groups there are girls going with scores in the 35's so they are being hurt just as much by the age grouping as regional split. One example was Bold gymnastics. The highlighted athlete hasn't outright qualified but her...

    Parents DP or Xcel?

Does she enjoy training and her current training mates? If so, I would just leave her be for now unless you financially/logistically will struggle as a family. If she has expressed the desire to do other things then perhaps you can start a conversation about supporting her to find an option...

Parents Back handspring on beam mental block

I spotted this page the other day and thought some of the concepts (skimming) were great. This one is an example that may help Ties in with what @JBS about the need to see where you are landing your hands.

Parents Three years at level 4?

It's not nearly as fun going to meets on your own or financially viable for small clubs unless the full cost is passed on to the parent. I don't think repeating is in her best interest. If she is going to be placed in the same training group as the level sixes - then the Xcel option might be...

Anon Navigating frustrating changes in Gymnastics path

I think there are enough potential issue for you with the gym that it may be worthwhile investigating other options for both children -Larger practice groups -Unresponsive coach -Reducing days and not fees -Communication -Nothing wrong with directing the bulk of kids to Xcel if that is the...

WAG Most Overplayed Floor Music (2024)

One way to get something a little different is to put anything they really like into spotify playlist and then see what is suggested based on current choices, constantly remove/add so this list updates. Ripping from youtube you are going to be have the exact same cut as everyone else, at least...

    Gymnasts This cool release move??

It is an 'easier' bar change that is similar to a Pak. It is a 'C' in the current FIG code. Amy Chow used this nicely in her bar routines

Parents New Gymnastics Mom, Is Team an Option?

All gyms are different, at some gyms nine might be too old. It absolutely pays to ask, so you know where you stand. No point continuing to pay for five days of recreational gymnastics at a gym who will never accept your child onto team when there is another gym that will.
