This was me when my YdD was asked to pre-pre-team when she was 3. It was 3 days a week for an hour and a half. A few weeks later my 5 year old was asked to pre-team, this was 6 hour a week, 3 practices a week... I had no idea what that meant at the time. But what I knew was.... my kids live...

Parents Pros and Cons of a Booster Club

" Most of the families who do their hours seem to have at least a little fun. Dads bonding over putting together a spring floor and filling barrels to hold down equipment is great because they aren't always as visible and involved. Helping to run a meet also gives the parents a different...

Parents What does your gymnast do when the gym is closed for vacation?

My kids are bored out of their MINDS! They have way too much energy! I usually take them to as many open gyms as I can as well as private lessons :)

Parents Booster Club Question - scholarships or grants

My kids gym will do scholarships on a needs basis. However I do not think it comes from boosters, I believe it has to do with the gym owners discounting the rate depending.

Parents Pros and Cons of a Booster Club

My kids gym has basically no booster club, but they do some fundraisers and the are a 5013C as well. I would say that our club has significantly lower monthly tuition than other clubs with BIG boosters that cover meets fees etc. I donate probably 20 hours a year of time to our booster, I...

    Parents Buying a beam?

My hubby made beam for my girls 3 years ago. It has since been retired and now we have tape in the living room for "beam" I think it helped them with handstands on beam, but that's just me. I thought it was more annoying than anything and in the way. I cannot even tell you how many times I hurt...

    WAG Repeating levels

My kids gym often repeats 3 or 4, but typically not both. My kiddos both repeated level 3 last season and I thought it was good for building confidence and uptraining next level skills. They are more than ready for level 4 now and have most if not all 5 skills too. But many gyms in this area...
