I am teaching shootovers to some of my optionals, they are doing fine going over the bar but they are either dragging their fit when they kip out of it or hitting them hard on the mat. I've tried doing a few different things to get them to hold their feet up but not much is working...any ideas...
Thanks for all the responses!
One of the things that I do stress is being aggressive when dropping their shoulders back when coming out of the cast but I probably could emphasize more on doing it early enough.
Alot of them have trouble getting into that tight hollow form from their cast...
I have gymnasts ranging from Level 6-9 who are struggling with their clear hips. The younger levels can't seem to come out of them high enough above horizontal and the older girls are trying to reach handstand. I've tried a bunch of things but nothing is clicking. Any suggestions??
I have a Level 9 gymnast who has GREAT tuck/pike tsuks and is wanting to learn a layout. She is training them to pit but isn't quite making the layout body position yet. She is opening more than she would in her pike but isn't quite there...any suggestions or drills? Thanks!
