Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what would be the deduction if someone did the L4 bars dismount rather than flyaway for L6? Am I right to assume that this is likely to be the most difficult skill for most new L6s? (Aside from the new vault- I can’t even let myself thing about that!)
If Aeriel silks are an option in your area, you might want to check it out. We find it to be a fun, low stress way to use (and probably build on) all that upper body and core strength + flexibility.
I have this issue and have been going to physio for it. I second the glute bridges. Also squats, perhaps adding a jump at the top. If she has trouble sitting back into the squat and tends to lean ahead, get her to touch her butt down on a low bench. If she has trouble with glute activation...
Re meal ideas- on gym days we always give my kids a hot thermos meal of leftovers for school lunch so I know they had one good solid meal for the day. Then they get a snack on the way to gym, at gym, and after gym. They get typical lunch food - waffles (we make and freeze whole grain ones), pb...
Thanks- this is a useful list. I have a hard time seeing my DDs do many of these!!fyi- I'm in Canada and we don't need to score out of any level so that is why I said we didn't do level 5.
I can clearly see the skills needed for compulsary levels, but after the level 4 skills, what are the next "big skills" to look forward to? I realize that each kid will find certain skills harder/easier, but are there some typical level 6 skills that most kids will work towards? Thanks!
I would love to hear restaurant recommendations, too. We plan to go to this obstacle/ropes course http://www.voilesenvoiles.com/en/ and maybe this one, too (right at Olympic Park) http://www.tourisme-montreal.org/blog/parc-exalto-the-first-urban-acrobatic-park-in-north-america/. I am thinking...
I finally took the plunge and bought tickets tonight! I sure hope the kids are excited when I tell them in the morning. I plan to book hotels and flights on the weekend.
My girls have been so fixated on getting their kip.. I watched them practice lately and even though they claimed to be "so close", it didn't look like it to me. I was just really hoping they would get it before next season so they would have a hope of moving up to L4. But then they both got...
I am so, so tempted to buy tickets. Just not quite ready to make the commitment when I know we have another big trip the very next week. I also don't know what I should go for- the qualifiers so I know I can see all the Canadians, or the all around finals. I am thinking one day will be enough?
