Ok I was reading the floor routine requirements and it says 2 tumbling passes, 1 that has 2 connecting skills and the other a single... Is that still the case case because our routine only has one tumble pass.... Unless a handstand counts as the 2nd tumble pass but I wouldn't think so. They do...
Honestly the coach isn't saying anything yet other than trying to remind her to keep her arms straight to protect her head! Right now I think they are just happy she's got it and will give her a little time before they start really correcting her lot so as not to discourage her. I look forward...
Thank you very good points to ponder! Thankfully yes we already have a simpler pass planned and can do the ROBHS if she can get it cleaner. Again thankfully we have awhile before comp season so will just have to see how it goes.
Question for everyone... My daughter has been doing her ROBHS for a few weeks and now doing her standing BHS but with bent arms...and legs. In your experience how long did it take for your kiddos to go from just being able to do it, to being able to do it with proper form? My DD is competing...
Our coach HATES side cartwheels! He will make our girls correct it if he see's it. We are taught facing forward and should end in a lunge facing back towards the direction they started, so have to make a 180 degree turn to start the next one.
My DD has just started doing her ROBHS in the last month and is now doing 2 BHS with a very light spot on the 2nd one. She's much better doing it on the floor vs the tumble track. I don't know if she thinks the tumble track is going to do more for her so she doesn't put as much effort or what. I...
Lots of good things to think about! Im not unhappy with excel in general because I believe it's a better route for us but it gives me something to think about what I feel like she should do in the routines. Something to talk to her coach about. At the same time comp season is a long way away and...
Wow doesn't that seem a little unfair? It seems you should be rewarded for learning/trying the harder skills.... I guess that's the difference between JO and excel....
So this is our first year in excel. We did level one last year but our gym is just strictly going to excel for now. So since you can have more options on your routines is it better to let's say do a ROBH but it not be perfect or do a simpler skill and be perfect? Which would typically give you a...
Thank you so much everyone for your input! I think the higher scoring and placement would be a much bigger motivator for my child than just working with the older kids. I do know in our area bronze does compete in the districts and regionals so that works well for us. Our HC did say she can put...
