Hey, random question here, not really sure which forum to post it in... Just wondering what the official name of that nasty move on floor, where you start off doing a cartwheel, but as you get your legs to vertical, you rotate your hips so you finish with a front-walkover?

Jamie's right. I compete and teach my team. The girls learning their back handsprings sometimes still need someone kneeling beside them after they've achieved it.
It's false safety coping. They know the can't have someone walk them through it, so they grasp for the next best thing.

I would suggest trying a YMCA? Their teams accept anyone... but only some of them actually compete in leagues worth competing in. Though it is a place to start, most gymnasts start level four by eight years old.
