I'm trying to figure out the format for this mixed cup. Do the teams choose their first three apparatus and then the final one is the one that counts after the scores go back to zero... seems a really strnage format
I wouldn't worry too much until she is competing. The truth is that sadly there are very few gyms in Australia that get to the point of coaching elite gymnasts at all. If you get to that stage Delta Gymnastics (where Georgia trains) has a few venues in Brisbane that can get kids to that level.
I think knowing that you don’t ever have to fully leave the sport helps. I have stayed in the sport as a coach and as a fan so I have never lost that part of my identity and I don’t plan on it. I will be a gymnastics fan till the day I die!
I loved high jump, athletics, diving, trampoline and tumbling, dance and soccer post WAG. Good luck! Gymnasts are awesome at all sports! It really gives you a great foundation for anything thanks to the insane strength training we do in gymnastics!
Let her quit. She needs to find something she is passionate about again. There are also plenty of other gym sports like trampoline & tumbling and acro. I quit at a similar age tried acro and diving, then went back to WAG, and then did competitive dance through high school. As a coach, I can tell...
I would reconsider it in another 3-4 years. If she is still performing well and wants to take gymnastics more seriously then you could potentially look at a more elite club. It’s still way too early to know at 8 years old.
