Hi
My team is doing something different next season. I was invited to practice with the silver A team and the gold B team. We never did A, B, and C teams before and I wanted to know if they mean something. Thanks!
I had a similar experience. I was on pre team and moved up to bronze. i competed a meet and had a 37.35 all around. Then, my gym had an in house meet and I was moved up to silver at that meet and I scored and did good, so I competed in silver for the rest of the season
I don’t really think it matters. Choose whatever floor music you like. One of my teammates has a slow, dramatic, creepy floor music, and she scored high, and I saw the judge mouth that it was her favorite routine, so I don’t think the judges have that much of a preference
Hi
I have gotten my kip and lost it multiple times, but now I kinda have it. Some days, I can do it with perfect form and straight arms, but other days, my wrists don’t shift and I get stuck at the top of the bar. Are there any tips or drills for this?
Hi
I was practicing switch leg back walkover swing through cartwheels for fun because my coach told us to try to connect skills. Should I do this or should I practice handstand back walkovers or double back walkovers. I will eventually need to to a back handsprings series, so what should I be...
I am not scared to go backwards that much, and I know I probably won’t hit my head, but that is what I am scared of. Also, when I am going to go for my back tuck, my body forgets what to do and I don’t rotate.
I didn’t have a bad experience before, and I have done back tucks with a spot back tucks sets onto the resi, and i have done a few back tucks before, but it was a long time ago. When I do a standing tuck into the pit, I fell like I am going to hit my head, but when I do a round off back tuck, or...
Hi
I am working on my back tuck and I have a mental block. My coaches told me to do a standing tuck into the pit, and they spotted me, but I am scared to do it because I am scared I will hit my head, even though I have done a back tuck into the pit before. Any tips?
My gym is also in NJ and has competed against ENA at a lower level, but the higher level girls at my gym go against ENA a lot and they are very good, and the coaches seem nice.
Hi, I habe been doing gymnastics for a little less then 2 years. I started in May of 2021. In June of 2022, I tried out for pre team and made it. I stayed in pre team for around 3-4 months, from June to October. I moved to Xcel Bronze in October 2022, and did my first meet in December. I got 3rd...
Hi. I am a Xcel silver gymnast. I just moved up from bronze in January, but I might move to gold next year. My gym is going to an unsanctioned meet on may 7 and we have a chance at competing at a higher level. I know I need my back tuck on floor, but I don’t know what other skills I need. Here...
Thanks for the feedback. My coach put panel mats around the low beam and slowly lowered the mats until I could do it on my own on the low beam. I am still a little scared when doing my first one, but I’m not after I do one. It’s just the first back walkover, but I did it on my own completely...
