Wow. I can just imagine how my daughter would feel. Its bad enough everyone knows "who didnt get a medal" if they take a team picture after the meet and there is no medal around the neck but then to do it in the gym too.
We actually compete both. We have to follow both rules though. She struggled to achieve the 31 at Y meets also. Her last 6 meet at a Y she scored a 26. And we both know, that Y is a little easier.
I do have all the scores from every meet. They are sent directly to me for record keeping. According to the USAG 2012-2013 rule book the move from 6 to 7 is a 31.
The parent group runs every aspect of the gym under the guidance of the coach. " As far as qualifying goes any sanctioned event will qualify her not just the state meet. So if she went to one with just the coach unknown to the rest of the parents or girls on the team, she very well could have...
She has competed as a level 7 this season. I know for our state meet each score needs to be verified but not for our local meets. I just sign the girls up according to their level. @ Kayjaybe I do have the whole story- i am in charge of scores ( after a meet I track who qualifies and who doesnt)...
But this is also my problem, as parent president, I have to represent the gym on behalf of the parents. And if there are things going on that affect not only my daughter but the other 100 kids I need to look into it. My daughter could care less because she is other girl is no competition. But...
But itis kinda my problem, when my daughter was off with her broken arm, it was told to her daily that she only had one meet and she had to qualify. If I would have known that girls getting AA 26 were still going to get to move up, we would have taken the return to the gym alot slower then we...
Not sure if anyone will know the correct answer, as I have not been able to find much information out on this. At our gym , we have a girl on my daughter's team that never qualified for level 6 state. And by not qualifying I mean by alot ( AA-26,27). Somehow though she is competing this season...
My daughter just finished level 6 through the Y. She practices 7 hours a week. They work their butts off from the time they enter till the time they leave. There are also camps/clinics/open gym all the time. If she wanted she could add 2.5 more hours. She is placing at both Y meets and club...
My daughters gym just opened an adult gymnastics class. Its just a bunch of us team moms and some of the coaches. I joined just because everyone, esp my daughter, said I couldn't do it. I hate to admit it but I don't even know how to do a cartwheel! A volleyball was mine love and carry around...
your first mistake is never compare scores. each meet is different along with different judges. Do you have it on video? My daughter re watches hers afterwards and can usually pick out the deductions after. Or talk with your coach
At our gym there is a glass viewing area for parents to watch. There really isnt any set rules about watching because one most parents have tons of other things to do during that time and two really how much can you watch? Some parents stay maybe the first half hour and come 15 minutes early or...
I have ordered many leos from here and they are all well made. Sizes are funny so make sure to check. I know a couple others who have also have ordered and have been pleased.
My daughter never wears underwear and always wears shorts, of course not at meets. I mean some of these things are training issues, example: if they are going to wear underwear at meets yes its probably a good idea to practice what it feels like or what are coach had us do for the girls this...
