Coaches Profit Split When Hiring Independent Contractor

iwanna - Definitely good points. I had thought about my time/effort/travel, but hadn't even thought about bathrooms/paper product use, additional cleaning, parking.... I'm not sure I understand your suggestion at the end. Can you explain again but use some numbers for example? Because the...

Coaches Profit Split When Hiring Independent Contractor

80 her / 20 me. Our concerns are... I'm not 100% sure I would just turn over keys to the building and let her run it without us there... so an extra trip to the gym and time out of my day once per week, or if it's piggy-backed on the gym schedule, it means we have to tear down our preschool...

Coaches Profit Split When Hiring Independent Contractor

We were approached by a parent who is certified in yoga instruction and teaches children's yoga in a nearby town. She would like to offer classes through the gym, and I love the idea of adding this to our program. The biggest thing we need to work out is the profit split. I see this as an...

    Coaches Coaching for the positive

This is from Young Accelerated Group Training - Ask The Gymnastics Coach. Thoughts? And how might this apply when comp girls cheat? Become the best and most popular coach in the gym by doing the opposite of what most coaches do. Catch your gymnasts doing something right and instantly praise...

    WAG "2013" New Routines/Level 6 Optionals

Does anyone have 100% proof that this will be effective fall 2013? The other coach in our gym is totally freaking out because he thinks it's going to start this summer and I'd love to show him proof so he can calm down.

    Conditioning as a punishment?

What about during conditioning, if someone does it wrong, or with improper form, the whole group is punished and has to start over or do an extra pass. I know this is a military training tactic, but is it necessary or effective in gymnastics conditioning? I don't think it builds a team spirit...

    Coaches Conditioning

Thanks everyone for your input. I definitely planned to talk to the coach, but before I did, I wanted to get a little feedback from others in the business. I appreciate everyone who took time to comment.

    Coaches Conditioning

Okay, so if you had a coach who asked a girl to do a skill 100 times, and at the completion she was told "You did them all wrong. Do them again." would you consider that firm or negative? If this was a girl who regularly slacked, I would say firm... but this girl really doesn't slack. My...

    Coaches Too much fun?

Can you give some examples of how you make it fun? I think it's great that you can make it fun and still get the scores!

And more specifically, these girls are under the age of 12, all level 4 and 5.

Who was the speaker you referred to? Would this person have any articles published online?

    Coaches Conditioning

Thank you for your feedback. I understand the vital role conditioning plays in any sport, but specifically gymnastics. I am concerned, as you mentioned, that conditioning for an entire practice can fill the girls with a sense of dread rather than excitement over coming to practice. They're...

    Coaches Conditioning

No responses? Okay, either this is an uninteresting topic or I didn't ask the question right. I'll be a bit more specific.... is it inappropriate or unsafe, in your opinion, for girls under the age of 12 to condition for three hours straight (an entire practice)? I feel it's better for them...

    Coaches Conditioning

I would like opinions/insight or online articles regarding conditioning: How much is appropriate and safe to do in one practice session? How much is too much for girls under the age of 12? Also, any good resources addressing the importance of positive coaching? Thank you!

Need help thinking out a situation... daughter crying.

Thank you everyone for your replies... this has really helped me think this through. A few weeks ago I was saying, "Maybe she's not ready for this yet... and she never HAS to do it, ever." But we tried to come up with ways to help her through practice -- just weren't on the same page as the...

Need help thinking out a situation... daughter crying.

"She says it just comes up inside her and she cant stop it. She has always been like this. She is quite a clever girl, sweet and popular too and has no need to cry. We have found ways to deal with it in class. She is also enthusiastic and bubbly - another side to her emotional nature." You are...

Need help thinking out a situation... daughter crying.

Thank you so much for writing... and for validating what I was feeling/thinking. You guys are right -- she is very young, there's plenty of time for her to be on the team, and maybe now isn't "her" time. One year can make an enormous different in a child. I want her to have a positive sports...

Need help thinking out a situation... daughter crying.

I have one daughter who is competing level 4 and another who is currently on preteam. She wants to be on team... talks about wanting to compete and get the skills. But every practice for the last few months, she ends up crying about the conditioning. The times she's managed conditioning okay...

    Feedback on video of routine?

I'm hoping that's the case. Last year the judges at this meet were pretty harsh, too. She so badly wants to be on the podium, and last year she was just a couple of 10ths away from placing floor at state. She's hungry for some metal! I'll give the youtube upload a shot. Thanks for your help.
