Been there done this... daughter had a stress fracture in her L5, and X-rays, Bone Scan and MRI did not show it. Only the Cat Scan did. 11 weeks in Hard back brace with no gymnastics and lots of PT. She was in the process of finishing Level 5 and making the jump to Level 7. This is something...
This meet is still at the Convention Center as there was no damage. The Convention Center was used as an evacuation site. Starbound is very organized and already has all of the session information on their website. :)
Your daughter will receive her leo when she checks in and then she will go change. The past 2 years they had changing areas set up, but that was in a different venue. I would think they will do as they have in the past.
We don't have a parent's organization. We do have some fundraising through out the year, we have one Mom that seems to handle this stuff.
handle a lot o
We are talking about Levels 3 - 8. The girls can move to the next Level, but they are not going to be permitted to compete until they are able to perform all 3 splits on the boards.
I don't think it is an unreasonable request, by any means. The majority of the girls have their splits on the floor, but in order for them to begin competing at the next level they must have them on the boards. No pun intended but this seems slightly overboard!
DD's gym has decided that they must have all 3 of their splits prior to competing the next level. I realize everyone has different flexibility, but they want the girls to have these splits on the boards. I think this means 2 spring boards pushed together. Is this safe? My DD has 2 of the 3 I...
I don't think the meets we have attended out of state are easy scoring meets, but I guess that is open to interpretation. Unfortunately, my dd missed out on the Nadia Comaneci Invitaional last year, but our gym did well.
I am not saying NJ is the toughest either, but three of the meets we have attended are pretty substantial out of state....Parkette's, Pink Invitational and Hill's Maryland Classic. She always seems to score quite a bit higher.
We are in Region 7 in New Jersey and I think our state can be difficult. My DD has competed in PA and MD a few times and has always done better in the other states than her home state. Maybe it's a fluke!
We just received our meet schedule last night! They brought in a judge to score our girls. If you received a 32 or higher, you can compete at the first meet.

We actually fo quite a bit of fundraising. We do a Pasta fundraiser that the parents love. This company puts out themed pasta. We also sell candles twice a year, Joe Corbi, flower bulbs and a car wash! :)
