My dd just turned 10 years old and is competing level 9! She did score out of level 6 at 7 yrs. and level 8 at 9yrs! To some children it comes natural and she is one of them. Although she struggled her first 2 meets, she has come on like gangbusters lately! The only thing I would say is...
I believe so! We have a judge that also teaches at our gym! She sometimes judge our girls( which I think is a conflict), and she always have something negative to say about my daughter's practice. At the meets, she scores her low! I told my dd to ignore her, because she is only one judge and her...
My dd is training back tucks, side aerials and layout, step out on beam! Only in the beginning do I get nervous, but after she gets it, I'm fine! Good luck!
I haven't experienced the fear factor at all with my dd. She has slammed her tailbone on beam, but after being out a week, went back and continued. She also fell off the high bar, twice in a week, which she never does. She's 9 and my advice to her every time was, you will have falls every now...
I have a similar problem. My dd struggles with school work and just doesn't like it. She also skipped 2 levels in one year (6 and 8), so, very talented. My decision, and it's what is right for me, is that I will never pull her from gymnastics as a punishment. Some children have special talents...
Hello guys! It's been a while since I posted, been really busy! Lat time I think I told you guys that my dd was training to score out of level 7, after already scoring out of level 6, 2 months earlier. Well she didn't score out of 7, but had level 8 skills added to her level 7 routine, this...
At our gym, as long as you get your 3 practices in that week, we are set. It is my dd decision not to go to extra activities that week( she's only 9), so she can practice at home some more!
She really does catch on quickly, and if she does score out, the plan is to have her first level 8 meet after the Christmas, New Year holidays. That way she'll have more time to prepare. She already practices level 8 skills and lots of conditioning, so I think she'll be alright. Thank you!;)
