i don't believe that are many requirements but i know that my gym doesn't allow glitter(makes the beam slippery). my gym also likes it when we use binders that coordinate with our gyms colors and if we have long hair it isn't supposed to be able to go past our hairline if it is flipped over...

my gym has us doing an exercise called kip pulls she we first learn our kips what you do is just lay down on you back with your arms straight above your head and then pull your arms down to your waist like you would on the bar. it gets your body use to doing the motion. other than that just...
my gym suggests buckle just because they don't come undone and also because girls have more of a temptation to be constantly re-doing the velcro. but both work good.
i Had the same problem and what i did was put foam blocks on the beam and leap over them every time i felt comfortable going over it i would add another block until finally you take the blocks away but keep your p\leap the same. it helps your leap go more up instead of out.
When i was first starting my level 5 vault was awful! but my coach really helped by telling me that when you hit the board you should not be leaning forward you should be strait up and down or even a little bit backwards. this helped a lot! and to get use to how it felt i kept trying different...
Great job on getting the skill! for going crooked try tumbling on a line and watching it as you go. and to help get your chest up try some drills with a coach like snapping your feet down from a handstand on floor and trying to gt your chest up as fast as you can :)
i have this exact habit and i have not yet found a solution. but my coachs have been having me try to focus on tumbling on my toes and it seems to help :)
i am a level 5 trying to move up to level 6. i have had my backwalkover on beam before but will not currently go for it after falling several times. i will not go for it without a mat and a coach's spot right now. any suggestions on how to get over this fear?:confused:
ok, so im a third year level 5 and have faced many injuries over the years i have just got back to doing everything and am trying to move up to level 6. my tumbling isnt the strongest but i need to get my back tuck any suggestions to help me get my back tuck sooner?
