Parents Use of time outs as punishment

What is your gyms policy on dealing with children who have fears? My daughter tends to be fearful especially learning new skills. It takes her longer than most to learn new things because of her fears. The beginning of the summer it was BHS on beam and cast hand stands. Now she has those but...

Parents Is 4 years of compulsaries too much?

In a nutshell my daughter has been a competitive gymnast since she was 7. This will be her 4th year competing. First yr level 5 finished with a mid34 but had some fear issues with flyways and back tucks so repeated level 5. Did great as a second year, placed in AA and finished in the 37 range...

Update - Sill in Level 5

I had posted here about 6 weeks ago re: daughter staying level 5. She is getting stronger but still struggling with some of the level 6 bar routine. How can she learn new skills if she is not being spotted? Corrections are just called out to her from across the gym floor. I emailed the coach...

    Need to repeat Level 5?

I have been "lurking" for a while but 1st time posting. My daughter is 8. She competed level 5 last year - went to states & scored a 34.7. She is now working on level 6 skills for the last month or so & is having trouble with bars & floor. She is scared to do flyaways, is weak on bars & is...
