I do not know of any instances where a girl was kicked out of practice at our gym. I imagine it would have to be pretty terrible. Crying or attitudes will get you perhaps sent to the bathroom to pull yourself together or to conditioning.
Do they show this before the gymnast goes, or afterwards, before the score comes up on the board?
If they show it before, how do they know what it is? Does the coach tell them, so and so has a whatever start value?
No other scheduled activities for competition season. Off season, she can usually participate in a local children's choir. Other than that, she loves baking and crafting. And, of course, watching YouTube and playing on Pinterest.
Is a switch leap a B skill only if it hits 180? What are other commonly performed B skills for L7 floor? And why is it so hard to just find lists of A/B/C/... skills online?
Yep, I've had to book hotels for the whole weekend for 2 big travel meets back to back in Feb.
And then you get to states, and nobody even knows WHERE states is going to be... and nobody knows anything about possible regionals except for the state.. yeeee-ikes! Optional gymnastics is not for...
DD gets compliments on her "lines." She is only 4'11", but if people just see her videos, they think she is much taller as she is "long and lean." Then they see her next to her teammates and WOW! I think for her it is natural, combined with her personal brand of perfectionism.
Region 8 here. 17.5 hours a week for all optional levels, going up to 19 in the spring. She did 16 for new 5, 12 for new 4, 9 for old 4. 38's are extremely rare except from Those Gyms, usually at compulsory states. Scoring for new 5 was indeed lower across the board (mid-35's won most...
Yeah, as soon as you said downtown ATL, I went and looked up the info. I need to be more on top of being nosy! Cadybearsmommy, thanks for the tip. I'll look into that hotel.
Me, DH, and YDD, who's 10 now.
MIL tries to come to 1-2 meets a season. I'm not sure how that will work out with a new competition season and farther driving distance for meets.
That's all the family we have.
Thanks. DD can be very quiet and she is extremely focused too. She is all business at the gym and just does not mess around. I know that she will compliment and encourage her teammates though. She is always nice to everyone. She is far from perfect, but she takes gymnastics very seriously...
Yes, my DD is a L7 now.
We do homeschool, but we're not super duper religious. We're Christian, but we wear pants and listen to music, KWIM? Homeschooling is more and more common in this area.
As far as people coming and going at the gym... we are now actually one of the longest-tenured...
Yes, we do homeschool. I wish it wasn't the case that many families who do not homeschool take our choice to do so as a knock on their choices.
Right now, she does not do any more hours of practice than anyone else as a result of her schedule. Like I said, we don't do any privates and I don't...
