What has worked for kids who seem to have a hard time processing/applying corrections? My DD, 12, L7, has I think always relied on her body’s ability to just “do stuff” and has never really had to learn to think through and make corrections. She got by without them (I mean obv not all of them)...
DD just hit 5 feet and is the tallest on her team (L7) by at least 4 inches. She’s been struggling on bars (can’t seem to get straight legs on glide before kip) and keeps saying it’s because the bar setting is too low but is afraid to ask coach abt it. Might she be right or is it something in...
Is it pretty much a given that if a gymmie can't do a press handstand then she won't be able to do a straddle cast handstand on bars either? I definitely see how feeling the form of and having the strength to do a press hs would help in getting a straddle cast hs, but is it more than just...
Can coaching really make a big difference in skill acquisition/development? Are some really that much better than others?? Anyone get a new coach and things started clicking in a way that you can really attribute mostly to coaching skill?
Based on my (albeit limited) experience in our gym (we've only been in 1), and from what I've gathered from CB posts here and there, it seems that by and large, parents are seen by coaches as public enemy #1. Or at least the antagonist. Lip service is given to the coach-parent-gymnast triad...

Who's the CB gym-recommendation guru? I recall a suggestion to someone else looking for gym recs to private message this person but I can't remember the name. We're moving from Kansas to the DC area this summer and will most likely be looking for a new gym family for DD. She's 10 and is L5...
Would like to know if and how your gyms go about giving parents (and gymnasts, for that matter) a chance to provide feedback in any sort of formal way, like an annual survey or something like that. I so wish our gym would send out a satisfaction/health-of-the-organization survey of some kind...
Hi -- would love to hear about anyone's experience with the Bart Conner 3-day summer camps (Oklahoma). We'd be driving from out of state and I want to make sure it's worth it. Specifically, were you happy with their investment in your gymnast as an outsider (as opposed to "one of their own,"...
