That skill was hard for me too!!
I did alot of timers on a floor bar.
Jump or kick up to handstand, turn and then go to push-up position.
You can also do it on the floor, by jumping to handstand turning and doing another one without stopping.
Hope you get it soon!!
I went to that meet last year and it was terrible! It was 5 hours long! The judges only gave high scores to people from Texas, and during awards they made a mistake and made everyone give back their medals!
But I hope she does good and has fun anyway!
To help them heal you can use neosproren (spelling?). Most people say to use tea bags, but it makes my rips worse. I have also heard that putting chapstick on rips helps too!
To prevent them you can either were grips or tape your hands, put its sometimes hard to do bars with taped hands.
If you like this gym, you should stay! But if you dont you should consider moving to another gym. Many gyms are in this situation, the number of optional gymnasts is really declining!
You could do timers into the pit where you let go of the bar but dont flip and just land on your back.
Before you go picture your self doing it, take a deep breath and just tell yourself that you can do it!!!
Good luck!!!!
34 hours for level 6 is way to much!! Most kids in level 6 are about 8-12 years old and that will just burn them out. I practice 20.5 hours a week for level 8 and I get exausted from my hours. Most of those kids are probably home schooled, we have kids like that at my gym who practiced 35 hours...
4 hours for a 5 year old is too much! I go 4 hours 5 times a week (Monday- 4:30-9, Tuesday- 4:30-8:30, Thursday- 4:30-8:30, Friday- 4:30-8:30, and Saturday 9-1) and I get exausted from the long practices. I would think that 2 hours for 2 days is ok for next week. But, this week she should stay home.
Well, just keep working, even if she stops talking to you.
Do lots of timers for series, do them on the floor, a floor beam, or lower beam.
Do higher numbers, like, if you have 10 routines, do 12.
I have had many problems on beam too, especially series, but dont get frustrated, it makes it...
You can do it with weights on to help you to learn to jump more.
You could also do it on a line or floor beam.
My coach would make us do the layout steep out standing of a pannel mat.
Remember to also do MANY repititions!
Good luck!:)
I would take 1-2 weeks off, and not even come to the gym. And then for 2 more weeks she should work on making her wrist stronger (like what they do in physical therapy).
She should also ice it everyday after practice and take pain medication such as tylenol, advil, etc.
And if she does not use...
I did ok, I got a 32.725.
8.75 on floor
8.325 on beam
8.175 on vault
7.6 on bars (did not make my cast over on the first try and i touched the mat, the bars were REALLY slippery and shakey).
At least I made it to state.:)
