    WAG Level 3 bars

I have the compulsory app, but I was hoping someone could clarify this. It’s a 0.2 deduction for failure to show clear stride support at the END of the shoot through.... So is the back leg allowed to contact the bar with no deduction? I know if the leg that’s doing the shooting through touches...

    Coaches Bronze Bars Dismount

Is the underswing dismount (current level 3 dismount) still acceptable for bronze? Im confused about this based off of what I'm reading in the code of points book and a handout I received at a recent training. Also, if still acceptable, does it have the same value as cast off to stand?

    WAG Fun stuff on bars

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10218056819152226&id=1239204915 Saw this pop up, this looks like a lot of fun. Luckily my kids aren't advanced enough to do it, I would probably get a heart attack if they decided to try this!

    Coaches Level 4 Bars

I am looking for clarification on the level 4 bar dismount and am sure someone here can help. However I am not sure how to best describe the 2 methods very well. I always thought the gymnast swung out released with 1 hand- performed the 1/2 turn- tapped the bar with the hand that released and...

    WAG Level 7 Bars

Can someone clarify for me if a giant is required for L7 bars? Can a kid do two free hips? Do the free hips need to go to handstand? Thanks!

    WAG Level 10 Bars

Can someone tell me - for a level 10 bar routine - what exactly is required? My daughter said two directional changes are required but the coach says she doesn't think so..... How can I find out for sure? Thank you in advance.

    WAG Bars cast to handstand

Hi all. Just wondering if anyone can help a confused 7 year old! She has been doing cast to handstand (straight to handstand, not straddle up) in a sort of dish shape for a while, and she is under the impression her normal coach wants her to do it that way. Her usual coach is on holiday for a...

    WAG Level 3 bars question

Which mistake is worse (bigger deduction) in a Level 3 bar routine? 1) Putting your leg on the bar during the shoot through? 2) Completing the shoot through correctly and then falling backwards? She has been doing Option 1 all season and it is killing her all around score. The coaches decided...

WAG Double Layout Off Uneven Bars vs. High Bar

NOTE: This conversation was split out of the following thread... https://www.chalkbucket.com/forums/threads/jo-code-changes-2018-2022.62666/ ------------------------------ For boys it's much easier compared to girls... bar height and lack of a low bar are major.

    WAG Optional Bars Question

Hi Everyone - level 5 ended earlier in March for my DD and she and her team have been uptraining pretty significantly ever since. From what I can understand, DD is training for level 6 or possibly level 7 next year - depending on how the summer goes. The main decider (I think) is going to be...

    WAG optional bars skills

In L6, L7, and L8, what are the skills typically competed on bars? What are the most difficult skills regularly competed at each level? I know that giants are standard in L7 but that's about it.

    WAG Level 4 bars question

My daughter often shifts her position after her first tap swing on the high bar, she claims there isn’t a deduction for that but I’m curious. I can post a video if that would help

    Parents Lvl 7 Bars question

My DD competes kip cast hs, clear hip, kip cast squat on, jump to high bar kip cast hs, giant, giant, layout flyaway. I know this contains all the required elements. Her clear hip isn't the best, but at an innersquad yesterday she received feedback that because her clear hip came from a...

Coaches Specific uses for ankle weights on uneven bars.

So, I've been mulling around the idea of using ankle weights on bars in a select few scenarios. I wanted to see what you guys have all personally had experience with. So, the first scenario would be to aid gymnasts training cast handstands with the legs together technique. I was thinking it...

    Bars & Beam

I need a bit of advice for a few skills... First is my kip. It’s pretty consistent but I always seem to bend my arms a little and slightly hunch over the bar. How can I fix this? Second is my back walkover on beam. This is sort of a 50/50 skill for me. It’s either perfect or I don’t make it at...

WAG Anyone Not Understand Nastia's Bars Scores?

This is not meant to be controversial! It's an honest question. Nastia consistently scored nearly a point higher on bars than any score that was awarded to those who were best on the other events. I have found SO many flaws with Nastia's bars. -Lands her Pak almost in a front support -Flexed...
