WAG Level 6 Floor & beam question

My DD had her first level 6 meet this weekend, my husband and I both thought she fell coming out of her side leap (after her first tumbling pass). When I asked her she said she's supposed to roll on the floor like that, but am I wrong in thinking she got deducted for a fall there?? She scored a...

    WAG Level 6 bars question

I recently saw a post about a cast to handstand being required in Level 6 bars. But I've looked at a multitude of Level 6 routines (new L6) on youtube, and only about half have the handstand. Can someone tell me if it's required, or not? Thanks!

    WAG Level 6 floor routines?

HI all-- Coaches/parents, any experience in scores for L6 floor routine 2 tumbling passes (ROBHSBT and FT) vs 3 (ROBHSBT, ROBHSFP, FT). Will DD score lower with only 2 passes if they are clean? do judges want to see 3 passes? thanks

WAG What is your gym's "rule" on advancing to Level 6/Optionals?

So I've been observing that there are many different approaches by various gyms as to moving their girls through compulsory and on to optionals. Some gyms seem to favor skipping Level 5, some Level 6. At our gym the HC (from what I've observed/heard) wants the girls to have a layout on floor...

WAG Level 6 floor routine requirements

I saw a floor routine this weekend from a level 6 that looked like the same elements in a level 5 routine but without the FSO FHS series... So the main elements were BHS BT, FT, split leap and I think a BHS. I was just wondering what the requirements are for L6 floor. I couldn't find it on the...

WAG Is there any skill that can replace back walkover on beam lvl 6

Ok...without going into detail on why my level 6 gymnast cant do a back walkover or a back handspring on beam (this would be like writing a short novel)...is there anything else that can replace those? Can she do say a round off or front walkover? What if she did a skill to replace the back...

WAG New level 6 - required or not this year?

There was at least one thread I found from March of this year, but nothing more recent and nothing definitive. Is new level 6 required this year? Me thinks no, but...... We moved half way across the country this year. DD's old gym completely ignored L6, and is either having kids move from 5...

    WAG Level 6 Beam

I am trying to understand Level 6 beam requirements. It is my understanding that Level 6 beam requires one "B" skill (plus the As). Does a BWO-BWO series satisfy the B requirement? My daughter has her BHS on beam but not confident and consistent enough to compete it at this point. They are...

    Coaches Skip Level 6?

This past year with the new level changes, gymnasts were able to skip Level 6. We have heard varying things on whether they can do that this year. Does anyone know...can girls go right from Level 5 to Level 7, or do they have to score out of 6?

    MAG L6 parallel bars question

DS has been working on his pbars giant, and while I think it's a long way from ready for prime time, his coach wants him to compete it this year. Just curious -- they were talking about him doing it with a spot, but what kind of spot is allowed? I just can't imagine him doing it with the kind...

    Parents New level 6??

For those whose DDs competed new level 6 last year, looking for some info on what is required/expected. My DD has had some injuries so is behind and probably won't compete for a few months, but interested in what is required especially on beam and floor. what skills? On beam she is doing...

Coaches New clarifications for level 6 SR

Did anyone else notice the latest issue of Technique where it says that level 6 bars now has to be a "clear" circling element from 3 6 or 7? That limits us to the basic clear hip or stalder correct?

WAG Is L6 required or not?

When the level changes happened last year, it seemed you could skip new L6, depending on where you were coming from. Dd was in old L6 and qualified for L7 score-wise, but didn't meet our gym requirements to compete it. For some reason they gym decided not to compete new L6, so she had to move...

    clarification new level 6 floor

So round off flic flic or round off flic flac tuck back salto can someone clarify. it's a round off back flip (handspring), back flip or a round off back flip, back tuck It's the flic flac bit that had confused me. We don't use flic flac terminology.

    WAG Skipping level 6

I thought level 6 didn't have to be scored out of. Is that true? If so, can someone point me to where it says that? Trying to settle a disagreement :)

    Parents Level 6 Beam Dismount

I understand that there aren't points added or taken away for difficulty; but what is the skill level difference in beam dismounts? For that matter, what are the options? Front tuck, cartwheel/back tuck and backwalkover/back tuck? Which is considered the most difficult/advanced? Just looking for...

WAG Lvl 6 vs lvl 5

My DD is training in a lvl5/6 group. Coaches plan to have no lvl 5s this year as last years exp was not great. The lvl5s really had a rough year with tough judging. What skills are needed for lvl6? Is a flyaway mandatory? What about BHS on beam? Dd is making good progress on both but the...
