I'm scared to do my back handspring on the beam... When I think to myself "Why even bother staying in gymnastics if im not going to try new things?" It helps but when I get on that beam.. I just totally freak out. So basically, I'm not scared to do my BHS on beam at all, until I get on the beam.

Any suggestions?

Fear is apart of the game, it happens to the best of us. Don't let a little fear make you quit! it happens, just gotta work through it. i found headgames.ws
has some great articles on over coming the fear, which really helped me with my standing back handspring when i was first learning it. you could put alot of mats stacked up next to the beam, and subtract one each time, as you get more comfortable with it. don't stress over it, you'll get it eventually!
