Bad fall 2/ankle pain

Last week I had a really bad fall doing a cast handstand. I forgot to mention that I really hurt my ankle. Right after it happened my friend gave me her ankle brace and I've been wearing it since Thursday when it happened. It has not helped that much and my ankle is really swollen and my leg is bruised on my calf and shins and I can bearly walk. I went to the doctor and they didn't X-ray it they just gave me a boot. It makes it worse so I don't wear it though. I think I'm going to go have it xrayed though but there is a 2 week wait. I don't know what to do.
