This weekend Carmie will compete at her largest meet yet. In a few hours we are headed to Salt Lake City for the Kalon Ludvigson Invitational. We are excited to watch the Senior Elite tumblers as well as seeing how she does competing against girls from other states etc.

She has had a great season so far. Last weekend she placed 1st in her age And level again in Tumbling and improved her score by almost a full point. Double Mini is still a struggle but he is improving each meet.

I looked up the routines and she is competing a similar level in Tumbling as my dd... her compulsory pass is Round off, 4 springs and the optional is Round off, whip, 2 springs layout (or layout 1/2 if she can do it).

The Double mini is almost the same, and tramp I couldn't really tell you because I don't recognize some of the skills listed, lol.

My dd is 9 as well and it is her second year too. Does (or did) your dd do artistic? Mine does still and we manage both for now, but dunno pointed out that she will have to choose one pretty soon, and it will be artistic for now.

No she just does TnT. We don't have a gym that teaches artistic within a 3 hour radius

Sounds fun!

Are y'all going to regionals? It's a long way with the combining this year but should be HUUUUGE. And I think she'd be in the same DM group as a couple of mine (and I might be judging.)

No we are hoping she can qualify at state. My hubs and I can't get off that weekend. But we might send her with coach if we need to. Wish you were going to be there this weekend

I would have loved to do that meet, but everyone was more excited about Vegas. Except me. I like skiing and hate casinos! I hope her first big meet is all that your DD hopes & dreams of.

Thanks CoachG. We are honored that this meet is right in our backyard so to speak. It will be great to see how she does at aka more "nationalal" level and help us decide if making a trip to nationals this year is worth it.

She had a good meet for the most part. She got a huge case of nerves once we got to the meet and she saw all the competititors ( and the size of her groups) and woke up with a really bad cold and wasnt feeling good, but she did it.

Double Mini 18 out of 36 and Floor 15 out of 30.

Not bad, she had girls in her groups from 8 different states, so it was so different for her, and hopefully when we go to Kansas City, some of the jitters will be gone.

I do have to say, the 9-10 yo girls level 6 is a HUGE group.
