Does this differ or is there a standard bench mark needed to qualify?

I know this is totally a newbie question!

It varies state to state and often level to level.

In NorCal, level 3 and 5 need at 34.5 in a sanctioned meet, level 4 a 34 in a sanctioned meet. Not sure about other states.

I think at one point you were inquiring about gyms in the San Francisco area. If your daughter is in excel or USAIGC, I am not certain where you can get that information. But if your daughter is in USAG, here is Norcal's state qualification scores and the link to their website.

Qualification to 2014 Fall State Championships
  • Level 3 Qualification to North or South State Championships o 34.50 All Around at a USAG sanctioned meet
    o Guarantee 360 athletes
  • Level 4 Qualification to North or South State Championship o 34.00 All Around at a USAG sanctioned meet
    o Guarantee 360 athletes
  • Level 5 Qualification to State Championship o 34.50 All Around at a USAG sanctioned meet
    o Guarantee 360 athletes
Qualification to 2015 Spring State Championships
  • Level 6-10 Qualification to State Championships
    • 32.00 All Around at a USAG sanctioned meet
    • 8.50 on each specializing event Level 9 & 10 Event Specialists (maximum 3 declared events allowed)
  • Xcel must compete in at least 2 meets at the intended level this season to qualify to the State Championship of that level.

Wait, does this mean that the qualifying score doesn't have to be at the sectional meet? L3, southern california. Sorry for the thread hijack.

Oh, duh -- she was talking about Southern Northern CA. I just read southern and jumped to a conclusion. I should have realized since we are "south southern CA". Apologies for being clueless!

It is confusing because Cal is 2 states of gym and then those states are broken up for some levels as well.
