All Chalked Up

Okay, so I have been thinking about gymnastics levels at my gym, and comparing them to the levels in the States. (I am not sure about the rest of Canada, so I didn't compare them to the other provinces). I figured out that if I was living in America, I would be training Level 4, 5 or 6. What are the differences in between the levels in Canada and the States?

Also, I just want to mention that my gym only goes up to Level 3.

Everywhere in Canada, except Ontario, uses the same system as you do in your Province. It is hard to decide what level you would be in the USA as there levels are so clearly defined, unlike our bonus based system.

A L4 would have
vault to flat back on mats

bars
glide swing
pullover
back hip circle
Mill circle
sole circle dismount

Beam
jumps
half turn, scale
handstand jumps

floor
ro bhs
back roll to puch up
jumps
hs forward roll
handstand to bridge kickover

L5
vault over the table (at any height, there are no rules to restrict height like in Canada)

bars
kip
front hip circle
cast to horizontal
squat on
long hang kip
tap swings

beam
handstand
cartwheel
jumps
half turns
sclaes

floor
ro bhs bhs
dive roll
front hand spring
bwo
leaps and jumps
full turn
Back entension roill to HS

L6
vault - same as L5 but the judging is more severe

bars
kip
cast to more than horizontal
clear hip circle ending at a certain dgree?
squat on
long hang kip
baby giant
flyaway dismount tucked or laid out.

beam
HS
BWO
full turn
scale
leaps etc

floor

front tuck
fhs fhs
ro bhs bt
leaps
Back entension roll to HS
bwo
full turn

All these levels use set music and set dance skills. WHich is totally not like in Canada. Hope this helps a bit. I may have a few things wrong, but on the whole it's all there. Maybe one of our US coaches can jump in and fix things?
