I really want to (and need to) improve my upper back flexibility across my shoulder blades and just under them. My upper back is really un flexible so all of my skills that go through a bridge use a lot of lower back flexibility which can be painful after a while. I have been working on improving this but my progress is a bit slower than I would like. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and if anyone can please suggest ways to improve my upper back flexibility?
 
You can work most of your body with the roller :)

You can also try stretching the pectoral muscles by laying on your back (on a bed or beam) and just letting your arms hang, sometimes these muscles can be very tight and limit the range of motion in the shoulder joint.

When you are bending backwards concentrate on bending one vertebrae at a time from the top down, instead of sharply at one point.
