I need to say, if you know the name of the gym involved in this coach's recent charges, please keep it anonymous, it doesn't need to be said.
So yesterday, a coach at a gym in my area was arrested and is currently in custody (pending a DNA test) for charges of attacking woman on a local running path as well as charges for stalking women at a local community college. The gym took very quick action and fired him immediately, they also took his picture and profile off their website (kudos to the gym for that!)
I also found out today that he has a list of previous charges that involve drug and alcohol related incidents.
My question is, what on the background checks does USAG deem as things that would render someone from not being hired at a gym? I assume once he is fully convicted of these assaults he will be added to the banned members list, but wouldn't the drug and alcohol charges have been reason enough to not hire him in the first place?
I'm not placing blame on anyone here at all, just generally curious what passes a background and what doesn't.
