I am asking because we have a very old gymnast at our gym who is a hero at bars. He told me that after competing Level6 he just did bars, because it was the "healthiest". It's not bad for your joints or bones, because there is no bouncing or high impact on them, and there is no hyperextension of the wrists, so overuse injuries from bars are rare.
You can get injuries if you fall off, of course, but he was talking from the health aspect.
He also said, you need the most strength on bars compared to the other events, which keeps you very strong, and this, of course, prevents injuries.
