i'll definitely try those things. so far I've only been able to do a bridge kickover by myself off a block, I've never thought of trying the cheesemat, I'll have to bring that up to my coach on Tuesday.

I can kick over from a bridge if I do it with my feet up on a mat, but if I try to do it from the floor, from the same level my hands are at...well, it just doesn't happen. I don't know if I don't have the strength or what, but I simply can't kick over. Help?

I'm 5'5" now and I'm 23. I'm probably at a level 0 haha. I've basically had to start almost completely over. When I did gymnastics when I was younger (6th, 7th, and 9th grades) I think I got up to a level 3, my height ending up probably between 5'3" and 5'4", I'm not sure.
That may not be the whole reason for your anxiety in the gym, but it may contribute. Often we can be subconsciously anxious about something, and it is possible to be excited and anxious at the same time. Don't overanalyze it though.
