    Parents L7 Floor Routine Advice

Thank you for all of the great feedback! It is so helpful. She did change her music and routine this year. Her jump/leap series was altered. She originally had a full in the routine, but it was taken out after she missed almost 3 months with a shoulder injury followed by an ankle injury. This...

    Parents L7 Floor Routine Advice

I am hoping that someone who knows the requirements of L7 can help me with something that I can't seem to get an answer for from either my dd or her coach. Her L7 floor routine keeps losing its start value. In the past 4 meets I have noticed that the judges lowered her start value to 9.7. Prior...

WAG Need some meet suggestions near New Jersey.

There is a meet in March at West Chester University in West Chester, PA. It is too late now, but a great Feb. meet is the Hugs & Kisses meet in Hershey, PA

WAG If you could pick any US meet.....

The Pink Invitational in Philadelphia is a great meet that DD looks forward to every year. It is a really big meet that is run really well. All of the girls dress up in a theme for team introductions and they also get a pink themed leo. The location is great because there are so many historical...

    Aly Raisman

They talked to her very very briefly because there were a lot of people there. She was so nice and professional. They each had their picture taken with her. My oldest was so nervous/excited to meet her that her hands were shaking!

    WAG Gym recommendation in Philly

There are a few good places to begin. Each is good in different ways. I would suggest looking into Gravity Forge, Somerton, or Ricochet's gymnastics.

    WAG Level 7 Vaults

Thanks for all of your great input. From what I gather, fhs vaults are most common. She has a beautiful fhs vault. I think she might be better off sticking with that for L7, but she disagrees. For L8 she is already working drills for a double front. I think that is the correct name. I don't...

    WAG Level 7 Vaults

I am curious about level 7 vaults. My dd will compete L7 in the fall and said that she is bored with the fhs vault and is planning on doing some sort of twisting vault. I think she said a half on half off. My question is this, which vaults are most common in L7? Also, how is scoring? Has anyone...

    WAG Level 6 Bars question

My DD just finished L6. From what I learned, they have to cast to at least horizontal to keep the start value at 10.0 However, they must cast to at least 45 degrees to avoid a .3 deduction. We were told casting to handstand is not required until L7. I don't know if this is 100% accurate, but...

    WAG Level 7 beam question

My DD L6 currently competes a fwo on the beam even though she can do a bhs. The bhs is not great but she doesn't practice it much. She doesn't like backward skills on the beam. She told me that she is currently practicing a fwo RO for her L7 routine. That seems like a difficult combination to...

    WAG Under Armour competition leos

We have UA comp leos and they definitely fit differently than the UA tank leos. I found that the comp leo ran a bit larger than both the UA and GK tank leos. Overall, when using the measurement guidelines, the sizes were correct. The leo itself is really good quality.

    Parents Gym shorts

Maybe try going with a material other than the velvet. They have shorts that are made of the same material as most leotards. My DD has a few pairs from GK and more recently started wearing the Nike Pro shorts when they run. They don't roll at all.

Parents Switched gyms yesterday...very hard decision..lots of emotions...

It is easy to keep doing the same thing and difficult to change, but it sounds like you put a lot of thought inti this decision and really have your DD's best interest at heart. Good luck at the new gym!

    Parents Summer Schedule L6/7 Optionals

Thank for all of the input. The 18 hours seems to be on par. During the school year they do 4 days 4 hours for a total of 16 hours so this isn't much of an increase. The 6 hour days just seemed long. I have found out that they will have a half hour break though, which I am sure is needed.
