I can’t help at all on TX gyms, but chiming in on hours. My son was a level 4 last year and they did 9 hours, which might be a bit on the higher end? I know they did a lot of conditioning. He did do bonuses last year. They didn’t have to have all of them ready before the start of the season, but...
You probably saw our group a few times then because the boys kept trying to get on the Jumbotron. One of our boys has memorized the Code of Points for floor exercise, so we had him figuring out difficulty scores while we were watching. He was amazingly accurate.
It was amazing to watch them! When they came out to award the all around, I was trying to figure out why they were all standing so close together at first and then it all became clear. They really all did such a phenomenal job.
I know there’s at least one boy on a local high school’s girls’ team (they have held meets at our gym), but I don’t think we’ve run into any girls doing MAG.
I can’t answer your questions about the better day or whether it is worth it, but we will be there. It’s in our backyard in essence. R is pretty excited to go. We have tickets to all the men’s events, although I don’t know if we’ll stay the whole time. If you do go, let me know, we’d love to...
Yeah, MA is probably a rough comparison since our COL is so much higher than a lot of areas. I went and pulled our tuition schedule out of an old email. Girls level 10 is $420, Xcel Diamond is $330, boys 7 is $375 (which I think is around 16 hours per week). And from reading around, those prices...
Agree! Not our gym. We’re in the same area and definitely much cheaper than that. I don’t know that our level 7 boys (which is the highest we currently have) pay as much as their level 4 boys do.
That is awesome! The support these kids give each other is great. We have a bell at our gym also and it’s great to see how everyone reacts one someone rings it.
My youngest came over to watch the video and he kept calling his biggest brother’s name. Not quite two years old, so he doesn’t quite...
I wish our times were consistent. Last year they were. Same time every day, just number of days varied by level. This year there are random chunks of time. Some go 9-1, some 12-4, some 4-8 and it’s all mixed up. Like one level is doing Tues and Thurs 12-4 and Fri 9-1, but another level is doing...
Hours change after July 4, usually a few more hours per level than during the school year and most of the practices are during the day, rather than evening, and no weekend practices. 6 weeks of that, one week of team camp and then one week closed before starting with the school year schedule.
