Parents DD officially invited to join pre-team...and we're not sure.

Thanks, everyone! Practice on Wednesday went well. DD definitely wasn't used to the amount of conditioning they do, but her coach said that will come with time. After practice we talked to her, and she decided she wanted to do give team a try. Friday was our first 'official' practice, and it...

Parents DD officially invited to join pre-team...and we're not sure.

Thank you for the replies!!! I emailed the gym and asked if she could meet with the coaches or try out a class, and they invited her to workout with the team on Wednesday. We'll be going to that, and I'll talk with the coaches afterward. Hopefully that will be a big help in making our decision...

Parents DD officially invited to join pre-team...and we're not sure.

I've posted a few times about my oldest daughter, who is five years old. She started gymnastics last June, and moved up quickly through the rec levels these last few months. The coach mentioned pre-team, so we filled out the interest sheet last fall. Today I received an email inviting her to...

Parents 7 year old--make them do other sports/activities too?

We're running into this issue with DD (5). She did soccer last fall, and when we talked about signing up for spring, or maybe doing dance, she said no. DH suggested t-ball, and she doesn't want to do that, either. 'Just gymnastics!' Okay then. I am going to look at some art classes through...

Parents Fess Up - What have you bought

DH made DD a bar when she started gymnastics this summer. The girls love to goof around on it (it's the height of the low bar), but it's currently sitting in the shed due to the snow outside :)

Parents Moving more quickly than I expected...

Thanks for your replies! We're definitely aware of the cost...and costly it is. Yikes. There are three pre-team levels, and they work out 3 1/2 hours, 1, 2, or 3 days a week, depending on which level they're at. They're preparing to compete level 5, I believe. I'm trying to wrap my mind around a...

Parents Moving more quickly than I expected...

My daughter, K, started gymnastics in June. Six months later, she's progressed to intermediate, skipping through two recreational levels in this session. I talked to her coach and he asked me if we were interested in team at all, or if we would prefer her to stay in recreational. I said we would...

Parents When the monthly cost of gym equals a mortgage payment...

Good timing! I took DD1 to gymnastics yesterday (just started three months ago), and the team schedules and tuition were posted on the wall. Pre-team is $250/month for about 7 hours a week. If she starts at Level 5 (the lowest our gym competes, it's $388/month for about 13 hours a week. I almost...

Parents New here...my two girls just started gymnastics!

My 5 year old and 3 year old daughters just started gymnastics last month and love it! My 5 year old is thisclose to getting her cartwheel and handstand, and my 3 year old is just having fun! I have an 18 month old, and she's jealous of the older two - might have to sign her up for a...
