I tried to edit my post, but couldn't. My daughter is 13, but has small calves. She's been wearing this size for the last 4 years. She gets pretty bad shin splints, so that is why she wears them. Zensah has several fun colors to choose from.
I posted a very similar question back in early September. I had so many reasons for moving my daughter from one gym to another, but she did not want to move. She was pretty upset the first week and resigned the second week. By the end of the month, she even realized the move was a good thing...
Thank you to everyone who provided insight. I know it will take my daughter longer to completely adjust, but at least she has mentioned a few positive things about the new gym. I know she would go back to the old gym in a heartbeat though. I just hope in 6 months or even a year she thanks me for...
As parents we had to make this choice. There was a lot of external pressure from the coach. The way things were worded, etc. She had to interpret what the coach said to something positive. Not easy for anyone to do that, especially a 12 year old. I don't think she'll have that same pressure at...
I made the same mistake you made. I told my daughter we are just trying it out. Last night I had to say we are staying. I am happy to hear that the move was good for your daughter. It gives me hope that things will get better. I need that now!
Thank you for letting me know. I have a feeling it will take a longer amount of time then. So sad. It is going to be tough watching. We factored in so much when making decision to leave. We knew it was going to be tough for her, but now I am just concerned with the length of time it will be tough.
There were several reasons for the move. All the reasons individually were not enough to move her, but together we felt the move was warranted. It was an extremely tough decision. We did move her and she started the new gym. Although she seemed fine in practice from the little that I saw, she...
My daughter just moved to a new gym. She did not want to move, but my husband and I felt it was the best choice. She is 12 and competed L9 last year. For those of you who moved your reluctant gymnast to a new gym, how long did it take them to adjust?
When my daughter made b camp a few years ago, we just had to pay airfare and camp cost. The coach paid for 2 other coaches to take my daughter. He viewed it as training.
I should also add that she had problems going into a pirouette with the change. She is not competing with a pirouette this season though. I'm sure she will work on that transition once meet season is done. Her coaches seem to think she will find it easier once she does get it.
My daughter has both her straight body and straddle cast handstand. She competed L7 and L8 with the straight body cast handstand. Her coaches thought her legs weren't as straight as they could be though. She just switched to a straddle cast this year as a L9. It did take her a little while...
My daughter had white in her leo a few years ago. The darker colors definitely bled into the white, and I was very careful when washing. I would avoid if possible. Makes washing the leo way less stressful!
