My daughter does straight aloe (no menthol cooling stuff) and wears cheapie dollar store "magic stretch gloves" to bed-- fresh aloe and blister band aids (the gel kind) during the day, then tape grips until they're healed.

Hers are Lycra I think :). She thinks the metallics are too stiff and the velvety ones are too hot :)

We went to play it again sports and got a lightly used black exercise 4x8 panel mat for handstands, etc at home nice and cheap :)

My dd is a lefty in life but righty in the gym :). We've heard from her coaches it's not terribly uncommon :)

We use sambucol (sp?)-- it's elderberry extract, tastes good and kicks a cold fast :). It's with emergen-c/zicam etc at the drugstore :)

I called the gym, and the person I talked to said she will miss the team tryouts (end August 1st) even though he thought she could possibly compete new 3, and preteam is a strength based evaluation, which I understand but it's a bummer.
