I've been reading a lot about gymnasts getting stress fractures from doing back walkovers. I've never had back pain due to back walkovers but I'm kinda freaking out now! Can someone explain what the correct way to do a back walkover is in order to prevent stress fractures??
My coach always says to squeeze your ears, meaning hide your ears with your arms, but this little girl thought that she meant to actually squeeze your ear muscles :D:D
Think about getting your feet over the bar right when your hips get to the bar.
What also helped me was to jump with both legs into it. So your feet stay together the whole time but it just gives you a little bit of momentum, and then once you get good at that you can take away the jump and do...
I don't think that it's my actual tail bone that hurts because it doesn't hurt when I put pressure or sit on it. But that area hurts when I do a standing pike stretch, forward rolls, backward rolls, and tuck jumps. Do you think that it's something serious that I should get checked out, or...
So I have had my standing back handspring for a while now and it's pretty good but I can't seem to connect my round off or anything to it. I have a good round off with a high rebound too, but whenever I try to go for my robhs, I always have to pause for 1+ seconds after my round off to go into...
So I recently got my front hip circle, but my legs and arms are bent. I try to tell myself to keep my legs straight throughout the skill but for some reason they always bend or I just flop off the bar and don't make it all the way around. Does anyone have any tips or drills?? Thanks!
Whenever I lift my arms up to solute, swing for back handspring,..ect, by shoulders make a popping/ clicking sound. There's no pain associated with it..but I was wondering if this is something that I need to worry about?
I tend to squat way too low in my bhs. I've been trying to correct it for a while but when I go for it I still am bending too low. I think it may be a fear issue because I feel like I'm closer to the ground when I bend low. Also my coach won't spot me, she just tells me to just go for it and...
Yes go for it!!! keep working hard and I'm sure that it'll be possible! Another thing you may want to work on on bars is a front hip circle and ROBHS for floor! Good luck!
