I currently have a hamstring injury and was told by my sports doctor to purchase compression shorts to wear while I am at practice. Does anyone have any recommendations as to where I could buy them? Thank you! :)
This is going to sound a bit disturbing, but hemroid cream helps a lot. Put it (unused) directly on the rip and put either band aids or a sock over it, since it would be uncovered. During the day, for pain, I would recommend neosporin and band aids.
Oh my gosh. That is absolutely horrifying, though I'm sure that we are all aware that it exists (sadly). Thank you for bringing this to the attention of everyone here, as it is very important.
Yesterday at practice I got two blisters... I feel like I'm falling apart. :D Anyway, I don't know what to do about them. One is close to popping and the other is on its way. Should I pop them (like, with a needle) or just let them pop? Any advice?
Building core strength will help a lot. One thing I was told when I was learning pullovers was to use a hollow/candle stick shape when you are reaching that point (about half way around the bar). I think this is one of the skills where the 'dots have to connect'-- as in, understanding the skill...
Today at practice, a few teammates were arguing over something, and it just got worse and worse. One of my teammates brought me by mimicking me. I was cheering her on while we were working on beam skills, and she started mocking me. I'm not trying not to sound like a complainer (I'm not), but I...
UCLA! I live in the state and was born at their hospital, and I go to their meets frequently. I'm also a USAIGC gymnast and my dream is to be a collegiate gymnast on their team. :)
At a recent gymnastics practice, I received 4 severe rope burns. Throughout the entire practice, they hurt terribly. I understand that this is normal, but I'm wondering how I should be treating them in my off time. I am currently putting neosporin on them in the morning/right before I go to...
Wow. Didn't see that coming. It will be interesting to see how this rolls out... But it will be nice to see her journey and more of her gymnastics frequently.
I was in pre team when I was 5, after that I decided to quit. I re-started gymnastics in 2012, taking recreational classes at a small gym for fun. After seeing the 2012 Olympics, I got inspired to compete. I was still in recreational gymnastics at the same gym, but it became more of a goal for...
A few weeks ago, I pulled a muscle at practice. I pulled my gluteus maximus. :D I don't know what to do-- most stretching hurts. :( does anyone have any advice for my situation?
My first meet of the season is next weekend, but I don't know any good hair products (like gel or hairspray to keep the 'whispies' back). Any suggestions? :)
Updated: I love floor and beam, currently. My opinions vary because of skills on each event. I love both because they are so artistic and I love the opportunity to be both graceful and powerful. My least favorite is vault, as my routines are really inconsistent. :(
