My 9 year old Level 6 Tumbler will be competing Double Mini for the first time this year. What type of shoes does she need? 1st competition is coming up, and i am going to have to order them. She will be the 1st one competing DM from our Gym, so its a learning process for all of us.

Hi, at a meet this weekend we saw a team wearing shoes for beam, vault and floor. We've never seen any girls do that before. What is the purpose of wearing them - do they really help the girls grip the floor, beam better? Give better traction for vault and tumbling?

To be honest I never used gym shoes but was wondering if they actually make any difference? I think barefoot on floor and vault is the most effective but was wondering if anyone knows the real reason gym shoes were invented... My guess, someone in a gym with no heater wanted shoes on their feet...

Hi coaches, DO any of your gymnasts wear shoes to vault ? Oldest DD is coming back from achilles pain/injury. The sport tharapist thinks it would be a good idea to return to vault slowly and wearing some kind of footwear. What would you recommend?
