WAG Can you skip level four?

So I was wondering if you are allowed to skip level 4 and move straight up to level 5? Because I was in Xcel gold and moved gyms and is training with the level 4s and they just finished a season and I’m wondering if i get all the skills for lvl 5 could I just compete that or would I be required...

    WAG Skipping levels in Xcel

My DD is 13 and in Xcel silver, and she wants to excel (lol) in her gymnastics and possibly skip a level. Shes worried that she won't be able to get where she wants with her gymnastics while being the oldest on her team, compared to the other girls it seems like she won't have much of a future...

WAG Skipping levels 4 AND 5?

My daughter’s coach said that he wants let my daughter finish competing level 3, and move her to optionals at level 6 (insert horrified emoji here lol). Our state competes compulsory levels in the fall, and optionals in the spring. My question is... will she have to score out of level 4 AND...

Parents Another newbie question: skipping levels

It seems like a lot of the gyms in our area skip L6? And go straight from 5 to 7.. Why would they do that? Wouldn't it be better to advance kids a level a year and get super high scores?

    WAG Skipping Levels and Severs?

Hi Everyone, I was wondering what your experiences with increased training and Severs Disease? As some background. My DD started Rec classes at age 6, when she turned 7 she started complaining of heel and ankle pain which we kind of ignored (I know, I feel horrible) for a while. She also has...

MAG A spin off post on re: skipping levels

I have a 9 year old level 5 who had a good year...64/65 AA score... Plan right now is for L6 next year and skip to 8 the following, although there was also some talk about skipping 6 and going to 7 at one point. What is a typical progression...are there advantages to skipping 6 vs 7?

    Coaches Skip Level 6?

This past year with the new level changes, gymnasts were able to skip Level 6. We have heard varying things on whether they can do that this year. Does anyone know...can girls go right from Level 5 to Level 7, or do they have to score out of 6?

    WAG Skipping Levels

Hey guys! Coaches and gymnasts, I need some advice on this one. I really have my heart set on doing gymnastics in college, not all four events (due to certain injuries) but definitely floor and vault. I would need to skip about 2-3 levels in the next 2 years. I was just wondering if this was...

    Skipping Levels NDP

Just curious on people's thoughts about skipping levels in NDP eg going from Level 1 to 3. Does this happen often? Would you let your child? Thanks in advance :-)

Parents What would you do? (teams and skipping levels)

My daughter has found the last 2 years of gymnastics really easy, as she hasn't been learning any new skills. She has been expressing her growing boredom for a year now. We're moving, so there MIGHT be an option for her to skip a level (it would have been really easy to do so last year, but...

    Parents Skipping levels?

A little background on my gymnast. She is a 7 y.o. level 4 competing. She competed Level 2 last year and skipped 3. We are at a small gym that caps out at 7 right now. My daughter lives and breathes for the gym. We are being encouraged to move her to level 6 in the fall and possibly 7 in the...

    MAG Skipping levels

My daughter is sort of skipping level 6 – she had to do one meet at level 6. My son is working toward skipping level 6. He has a few more level 7 skills to get and his first meet is in January. His coach hasn’t mentioned that he would need to do one meet at level 6 yet. He is not working...

Skipping levels in optionals, is this possible?

I am so utturley confused! I chose at the beginning of the season to switch from USAG to AGA and was happy with my decision, but i am starting to wonder if that was the right decision. Maybe i should have simply quit, i dont know, but i was wondering if it is possible to start as a level 8 if i...

    Parents Skipping levels question

I've read the USAG rules and I'm still confused and wonder if anyone can help. In the fall my DD competed level 3 and went to states. We switched gyms and they put her with the level 4 girls who were going to do prep op silver this winter. They did that, went to states and now are starting...

Skipping Levels to barely qualify for States--Is it Worth it?

I am sure that this will be a good topic for discussion :D. What do you all think about skipping levels to "fast track", but the scores are barely hitting the State qualifying scores? Is this worth it for the gymnast? If they are barely hitting 8's on routines in one level, who is to say that...

Another point of view for the skipping levels debate

In this interview on gymnastike Aleiny Cordova a level 10 gymnast talks about how she struggled with level 8 and level 9. She puts this down to skipping (I presume she means scoring out of) level 5 and level 7. She says this lack of competative experience has left her struggling with nerves...

    Skipping levels?

Is it possible for a compulsory USAG gymnast to skip a level? I am already 14, but I love gymnastics dearly, and I want to maximize my experience before I have to leave. I competed well at L4 last year, at 13 years old, scoring something like 36.5 AA at state last year. I scored 8.5 and above...

    skipping levels

Hello! My DD is beginning level 6 after an incredible level 5 season, where she took first numerous times, including at States. She can do pretty much everything the new level 7s can do, and wants to skip level 6. What would be some good reasons why she would not be recommended to do this? I...

    Coaches Skipping Levels

I'm not sure if this is the correct board, but as this question is sort of addressed to coaches, I'll ask it here. I am pretty new to the world of gymnastics but I've been doing some online looking and have joined some message boards and groups and asked a couple of questions and am running...
